• Time: 1.5-2 hours.


Suzhou Museum

Visit this modern museum designed by I.M. Pei, featuring ancient artifacts and stunning architecture.

Evening


Shantang Street

Visit this lively canal-side street for evening views, street food, and local crafts.


• Optional: Watch a traditional Kunqu opera performance nearby.


• Time: 1.5-2 hours.

Day 2

Water Town Charm and Travel to Nanjing


Morning


Tongli Water Town

Travel to this well-preserved water town known for its canals, bridges, and Ming-Qing Dynasty architecture.


What to Do


• Explore gardens like the Retreat and Reflection Garden.

• Visit the Pearl Tower and Three Bridges.


• Time: 3-4 hours.


Afternoon


Travel to Nanjing:

• Take a high-speed train from Suzhou Railway Station to Nanjing South Railway Station (approximately 1–1.5 hours).

• Check into your hotel and rest briefly.


Evening


Qinhuai River and Confucius Temple

Stroll along the Qinhuai River and visit the Confucius Temple for cultural and scenic views.


• Optional: Take a boat ride along the illuminated Qinhuai River.

Historical Landmarks of Nanjing


Morning


Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum

Visit this grand mausoleum dedicated to the founding father of modern China. Walk up the 392 steps for stunning views of Purple Mountain.

Afternoon


Nanjing City Wall and Zhonghua Ge

Explore the world’s longest city wall and the ancient gate system, a masterpiece of Ming Dynasty engineering.

Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum

A UNESCO World Heritage site housing the tomb of Emperor Hongwu, the founder of the Ming Dynasty.
