Modern and Historical Shanghai


Morning


The Bund

Walk along this iconic riverside promenade and take in views of the historic colonial-era architecture on one side and the futuristic Pudong skyline on the other.

Yu Garden and Old Street

Explore this classical Ming Dynasty garden filled with pavilions, koi ponds, and intricate rockeries. Wander through the surrounding Old Street to shop for souvenirs and snacks.

Afternoon


Shanghai Tower

Visit the world’s second-tallest building and take the elevator to the observation deck for breathtaking views of the city from 632 meters high.

Evening


Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street

Explore this bustling shopping street filled with international brands, local shops, and street performers.


• Time: 1.5-2 hours.

Day 2

Zhujiajiao Water Town


Morning


Zhujiajiao Water Town

Stroll through the canals, stone bridges, and ancient streets of this 1,700-year-old town.


What to Do


• Visit Kezhi Garden and the ancient Fangsheng Bridge.

• Take a boat ride on the canals.

• Try local snacks like zongzi (sticky rice dumplings).


• Time: 2.5-3 hours.


Afternoon


• Return to Shanghai (Travel Time: 1 hour).


Tianzifang

Wander through this maze-like arts and crafts enclave in the French Concession area. Shop for handmade goods, art, and quirky souvenirs.

Evening


Huangpu River Night Cruise

End the day with a boat cruise along the Huangpu River, admiring the illuminated cityscape of The Bund and Pudong.

Day Trip to Hangzhou

Travel to Hangzhou


Take a high-speed train from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station to Hangzhou East Railway Station. Travel time is approximately 1 hour.


West Lake Scenic Area

Stroll along the UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its serene beauty, pagodas, and gardens.


What to Do


• Walk or bike along the lakeside paths.

• Visit Lingering Snow on the Broken Bridge and Leifeng Pagoda.

• Optional: Take a short boat ride on the lake.


• Time: 3 hours.


Afternoon


Longjing Tea Village

Travel to this tranquil tea plantation to learn about China’s famous Dragon Well Tea.


What to Do


• Tour the tea fields.

• Enjoy a traditional tea-tasting session.
